Exercising the Semantic Web

This article is aimed at understanding, evaluating and forecasting the Semantic Web.Assume the Semantic Web is a big-big project proposal, and we want to exercise all important aspects of the idea. For this purpose, we use the Heilmeyer’s Catechism to surge the proposal with the following questions:

  1. What is the problem, why is it hard?
  2. How is it solved today?
  3. What is the new technical idea; why can we succeed now?
  4. What is the impact if successful?
  5. How will the program be organized?
  6. How will intermediate results be generated?
  7. How will you measure progress?
  8. What will it cost?

These questions will serve as our main framework in undertanding the Semantic Web and its future. At the end of this article, we expect to get a big picture of the Semantic Web. Ok, lets start with Google to collect web pages containing answers to those questions.
